Tuition Information
The cost of tuition for the 20 week course is $12,495.00 Cdn. (A $1500.00 deposit is required.) This includes the full cost of tuition,
any tools required to complete the course, all materials involved in constructing your own instrument (using standard materials only- any upgrades will be extra charge such as: various exotic woods, pick ups or gold parts) and the use of an additional guitar for repair purposes.
Each student taking the 20 week course will receive his/her own work bench with personal tools of 120 pieces. This allows for students to work uninterrupted through the sharing of tools. Other tools and machinery which are shared by all students are: hand rotors, drill press, moulding tables and tools, sanding tools, air tools, disk, thicknees and stroke sanders, bandsaws, buffers, etc.
Payments can be made by Visa, money order or certified cheque, made payalbe to Lado Musical Inc. Payment made in the
following way: 100% upon enrolment . Canadian residents will be charged GST on the full amount.
How can I finance my tuition?
*Canadian citizen students may seek financial assistance through Canadian government programs as provided through
Canadian government programs provided through each province.
* Additional Canadian provincial government programs also provide re-training programs, otherwise financial institutions can provide loans.
* USA or other countries will have to seek a financial institution or financial aid through applicable countries. The USA
does provide financial aid through FAFSA.
What type of accomodations are offered?
*Lado Lutherie does not have on-campus housing , however we will assist you in finding accommodations closest to our factory.
*The homes we deal with are prespectable and clean and it is expected that students behaviour must be considerate.
*In order to assist thestudnets in finding the best possible housing , we will ask what preferences the student may have.
Please note that not all preferences will be able to be fulfilled.
*Lindsay is a small town, which has a poplulation of 18,000 and is located 1.5 hours from the city of Toronto and .5 hours from the
city of Peterborough, populaton 68,000. Lindsay is surrounded with four lakes and is well know tourist area. Lindsay is also the home of Flemming College, a school know worldwide. For these reasons it is very difficult to find accommodations and it is important that if
housing is required, that students advise as early as possible upon booking.
*Lindasy, although small, does have local entertainment such as movie theatres, live theatre, hockey arenas, lots of shopping
and restaurants in a quaint town.
Course requirements
To be considered for enrolment, you must have completed high school with preferably a woodworking credit. Students who do
not have any experience with woodworking will be demonstrated and monitored closely, till they understand and feel comfortable.
It may be advantageous to student to take a woodworking course at a local school or college before attending the
Lado Lutherie School as it would provide basic knowledge of hand tools and basic machinery.
Course requirements
Once you have successfuly completed the course you will receive a "Lado Luthier Certificate". This certificate and the knowledge you have acquired will provide yoiu with opportunity for possible future employment with major guitar manufacturers, small custom facilities, or local music stores, or be your own boss.
Advantages to the Lado Lutherie School
The Lado Lutherie school intentionally limits its calss sizes to 6-8 persons per class to allow for more individual attention to ensure that students fully understand the concepts being taught. Testing will be done informally on a daily basis.
As Lado Musical Inc. has been a manufacturer of fine guitars for 30 years, we have a knowledge base to teach students how to build
guitars from a 'professional,' design to production capacity within our own manufacturing facility which provides various special tooling
capablilities such as: vac system, CNC macine, electrical benders, hgh tech spray booth, etc. for both acoustic and electric guitars.
We will also teach you how to craft beautiful guitars the "old fashioned " way to allow you to work at home without all of the 'high tech'
equipment. This will also give students more opportunity to delvelop hand tool skills as well as the computerized high tech skills needed in todays market.
